The Monti

The Monti Market
District: I
Address: via Baccina
Type: Indoor
Business Type: food/ non food
The local market of the Monti neighbourhood is located in via Baccina and it is one of the oldest markets of Rome. Built in 1933, at the height of Fascism, it has been completely renovated in 1993 but has kept its beautiful, original facade. In the last few years it has struggled to remain open but today retailers are doing their best to boost this hidden gem at the heart of Italy’s capital city. In fact, in spite of the limited space, nothing is missing: fruit and vegetables, meat, fish, fresh pasta and even a handmade craft shop. It is a unique, valuable, full-fledged site definitely worth a visit.
